HCD Import module can save users precious time when documenting their Hardware Configuration Definitions. This utility will validate HCD IODF files and compare against your OBTAIN assets configuration. It can also be used to quickly import the CHPID types, LPAR mapping, PCHID mapping and Director Alloweds for new processors.

CHPID Imports

CHPIDs can be imported from HCD IODF file and associated with the OBTAIN assets through a simple validation process.

LPAR Mapping

Data for each host image are contained in the CHPID host dialog and display the LPAR for each.

PCHID Mapping

Import PCHIDs can be done by retrieving information from the Channel Path Summary report.

Director

Validate your Director Alloweds through the HCD report to keep your data as accurate as possible with little effort.

Create Devices and Connectivity

A new site may be quickly populated using the Creating Devices and Connectivity portion of the HCD Import. All processors, switches and control unit device contained in the IODF can be created and connected automatically. Cables will be created dynamically to achieve the connectivity; cables will be given a name with an ‘HCD’ prefix and incremental numbers.
